What is Risk?
Cynthia A. Kase, with over 35 years industry experience, is considered by many the energy market’s leading short-term forecaster, calling energy prices to within pennies with a documented 96% accuracy for over 15 years. She is a masters-level chemical engineer who, after 10 years in engineering, turned oil trader and risk manager in 1983, after Chevron, Chemical Bank and the Saudi Oil Ministry, started Kase and Company, Inc., a trading and hedging consultancy, geared towards the institutional energy sector, in 1992. As a Chartered Market Technician, Master of Financial Technical Analysis and Commodity Trading Advisor, she won the Market Technician Association’s “Best of the Best” award in 1997 for momentum, and has developed software carried by most of the leading charting services, including Aspen, CQG, TradeStation, ProphetX, eSignal and MetaStock. The author of dozens of trading articles, many contributed chapters, and the acclaimed Trading with the Odds, Kase has been teaching technical forecasting and analysis since 1989.

What is Risk?
Dean Rogers, with almost seven years experience working with Kase’s technical forecasting techniques, first joined Kase and Company, Inc. in early 2001 as a computer programmer and IT specialist. He became manager of the Kase Call Center in 2002 and from that time has run the firm’s day-to-day operations. Rogers has co-taught classes on both trading and hedging and manages all client training. He assists with the weekly natural gas forecast, writes the reviews of trading strategies and lessons, and is now the primary analyst for Kase’s weekly crude oil forecast.
